Aliou Diarra and Chasson Randle Lead APR to Big Victory Over Nairobi City Thunder
APR got off to a powerful start in their BAL 2025 Nile Conference campaign with a dominant 92–63 win over Nairobi City Thunder in a highly anticipated East African derby at BK Arena in Kigali.

The game, which took place on Saturday, May 17th, was attended by His Excellency Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda, along with BAL President Amadou Gallo Fall and other top officials, making it a special night for Rwandan basketball fans.
APR’s victory was fueled by strong performances from key players. Aliou Diarra stood out with a double-double, scoring 21 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. His presence on both ends of the floor helped the Lions control the paint and protect their rim.
Guard Chasson Randle also delivered an outstanding performance, contributing 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. His scoring and playmaking gave APR the edge they needed to pull away from the Kenyan side.
