Overview of New Players in the National Basketball Team
Cheikh Sarr, the coach of the National Basketball Team, has recently called up 15 players to prepare for the 2025 African Championship qualifiers. Among them are four newcomers, whom we will highlight here for better familiarity.

Antino Jackson, a 28-year-old standout from REG BBC this season, brings significant experience, having played in various countries including the USA, Hungary, Estonia, Israel, Lithuania, Mexico, and Turkey. Given his impressive performance, he is a valuable addition to the national team.
Shema Bruno
Shema Bruno, 22, has been rapidly improving since joining the senior ranks. He started with Royal BBC Brainois in 2014 and moved to the youth team of Spirou Charleroi in 2023, a prestigious club in Belgium that has won the national championship 10 times, with the most recent victory in 2011. The team has also secured five national cups and seven Super Cups.
Alexandre Aerts
At 23, Alexandre Aerts plays for Ciney Royal Basketball Club in Belgium’s Third Division. He is new to this club after previously playing for Liège Basket and competes as a guard. He has experience in three-on-three basketball, having played for Belgian youth teams.
Manzi Kenny
Manzi Kenny, a 20-year-old who grew up in Australia, began his basketball career with Norths Bears in the Northern Suburbs Basketball Association. In 2019, he moved to the USA to join West Coast Elite in Southern California.
These young players represent the future of the national team as they prepare for upcoming competitions.
