Coach Julian Martinez highlighted their intensive preparation, focusing on physical strength and team cohesion. “We have been working hard for weeks, and our goal is to win every game and secure the Cup,”
he stated. Martinez acknowledges the challenges ahead, noting the presence of strong competitors like KPA and APR WBBC.
Player Tetero Odile emphasized the team’s good form and the successful adaptation to the new coach's strategies. “We have been training hard and have built a solid understanding with the coach, which has helped us improve our gameplay,” she remarked.
The tournament will feature nine teams from the FIBA Zone V region, including representatives from Uganda, Burundi, Tanzania, Egypt, Kenya, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, and Rwanda. This competition aims to secure berths for the 2024 FIBA Africa Women’s Basketball League, which will bring together the top ten teams from across Africa.
Overall, REG WBBC is focused and ready to compete, aiming for victory while building on their past experiences. With a mix of seasoned players and new talent, they hope to make a strong impression in this year's tournament.
