Rwanda kicked off its campaign in the third window of the FIBA AfroBasket Qualifiers on January 21, facing a tough challenge against Senegal. Despite their best efforts, the Rwandan national team fell short in the opening game, losing 73-96. The match showcased Senegal’s dominance, as they controlled the tempo and capitalized on Rwanda’s defensive gaps.
The second game, played on January 22, saw Rwanda go up against Cameroon in another challenging contest. Unfortunately, the team was unable to bounce back, suffering another defeat. The consecutive losses put Rwanda in a difficult position in the qualifiers, demanding a strong response in the final game.

However, Rwanda showed resilience in their third match against Gabon. Determined to end the window on a high note, the team put forth an impressive performance and secured a much-needed victory with a final score of 81-71. This win not only boosted the team's morale but also kept their qualification hopes alive.
While the journey through this phase of the qualifiers has been tough, Rwanda’s ability to secure a win in the last game reflects their potential and fighting spirit. Moving forward, the team will need to analyze their weaknesses and build on their strengths as they prepare for the next stage of the competition.
